    Improving Material Flow Through a Conveyor Transfer Point

    The Challenge: When conveying high moisture coal the material overflows the deflector plate, sticks in chute, and causes blockage.

    The Result: EDEM simulation showed that adjusting the shape and position of the deflector plate in the virtual prototype to accommodate the increased bed height of moist coal fixes the problem while maintaining the target mass flow rate. [Courtesy of Benetech]
