EDEM Creator

With its industry-standard graphical user interface, the EDEM Creator is used to quickly and easily set up and initialize models.

Model Parameters

• Easy specification of materials and interactions.
  - Poisson's ratio, shear modulus and density.
  - Coefficients of restitution, rolling and static friction.
• Customizable unit settings to fit those favored by your organization.
• Transfer of materials and interactions to and from a manageable database.

Particles

• Creation of spherical or non-spherical particles.
• Model particles on imported CAD templates or output from a laser scan (IGES, STEP, ProE, Fluent Mesh, Neutral, STL, ACIS v1.1, Parasolid, Catia v5, ANSYS).
• Surface approximation using multi-element convex geometric primitives.
• Automatic calculation of particle parameters including moments of inertia and mass.

Machine Geometry

• Solid model and optional surface mesh import of machine geometry.
• Easy creation of basic geometry bodies such as cubes, cylinders and polygons.
• Assign linear or sinusoidal translations or rotations to individual geometry sections.

Particle Generation

• Particles generated using EDEM's unique Particle Factory^TM tool.
• Easy creation of dynamic (continuous) or static (instantaneous) factories.
• Simple specification of a range of initialization conditions including linear and angular velocity, size and orientation. Options include linear, normal, and log-normal distributions.
• Particles placed using random or lattice (cubic, fcc or bcc) formations.
